Children’s Ministries

Just imagine…
  • A place where all children, including those with special needs, will have fun, feel safe, loved, and excited enough to bring their friends and family each week.
  • Where multimedia techniques and interactive storytelling are used to teach Biblical principles and how to live out God's word in everyday life.
  • Where children are part of a small group of peers who are led by loving and encouraging adults who are passionate about influencing the next generation of Christ followers.
  • Where families have a partner as faith-builders in the home.

Can you imagine this place?
This is Fairview at River Club, a campus of Fairview Baptist Church.

When your child arrives…
They will be greeted at our welcome center by one of our children's ministry volunteers. All volunteers have completed a training program, been carefully screened, and are committed to the biblical education and safety of your child. Our easy registration process makes it quick, simple, and safe to get your child plugged in with their small group.

What your child will experience...
Welcome time: After check-in children will go to their peer group classroom where they will be engaged in interactive activities with their leader with no more than 10-12 children per group.

Pre-Large Group: This time is designed to introduce children to the weekly topic in a setting that gives them individualized attention from their small group leader and plenty of interaction with a small group of peers.

Large Group & Worship: Engaging time of worship in a large group setting that includes music, prayer, and an innovative approach to the Bible story.

Small Group: This time focuses on understanding how the day's topic applies to the children. The group will discuss real-life experiences and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles.

Classes
Special Needs: We are committed to meeting the needs of every child who comes through our door. We believe that each child can know the love of God in their own special way; we believe that they can be a part of their community of believers through worship, growth, and service. With this vision, we offer a classroom specifically designed and equipped for children of varying cognitive and physical disabilities. The specially trained staff will work with parents in gathering intake information that will enable each volunteer staff member to meet the individual needs for each child. We are committed to providing a safe and positive atmosphere where each child of all stages can come and learn about the love God has for them. For those who are comfortable in large group settings, we provide a buddy to aid in their morning learning experience.

Our Leaders
All of the leaders in our children's ministry have been through an orientation, background check, and interview with children's ministry team. They have been through training for the specific age group they minister to and they are also involved in active training opportunities as provided by the children's ministry department. We firmly believe that as soon as you stop learning you stop leading, so training is a big deal to us!

Nursery
At Fairview we love families. If you wish to keep your infant with you in worship, we invite you to do so. There is a crying room adjacent to the worship center where you may tend to the needs of your child and remain part of the worship service. We also have a nursing room available in the baby nursery.

For parents who would prefer to leave the care of their child in the hands of highly committed, loving and trained volunteers, we have an inviting nursery at the end of the hall.

Preschool
Classrooms for toddlers – 4 year olds are available to the right of the worship area. In our preschool department we focus on introducing God and modeling His love through hands-on activities, fun songs, and engaging Bible stories.
